Word for the Year

FREE.
My chosen word for the year, is FREE.

I desire to be free, free from the fears that try to bind my feet, free from rooms that feel too small.

I want to be free and speak to those I meet, even though they may condemn me when I step away.

I desire to share my life, my passions, my visions, even if they are imperfect.

I want to live, really live with outstretched hands and an open heart.

FREE

Public Art Project "Take Flight" at Monte Vista Resort in Mesa, Arizona

Neighbor Jackie and me.
We pulled into Monte Vista Resort in Mesa, Arizona for one week and experienced the warmest welcome.  Our neighbor Bob helped us back our rig into a slender spot around a palm tree, and Jackie told us about all of the wonderful places to see in the area.  She even baked us her holiday specialty bread!

Our site on 8th street.

The pool was beautiful and heated!
The kids enjoyed the beautiful pool, we enjoyed the beautiful people.  We invited the community to come over to our site and add their dot and inspirations to our public art project.

We had a great turn out, all ages, and started those orange dots on the Monarch butterfly wing.  Who couldn't be inspired in a community so full of life, friendship, and joy.

JeM Collection Contemporary Blue Brown Acrylic Art on Textured Canvas

4x4
I have a new favorite coffee cup I picked up in Maine from a local potter.  I was inspired by the blues and whites streaming down the coffee cup's sides.  This painting was created with super glossy gel for the underneath texture, with a few coffee beans coated and placed on the canvas.  The coffee beans became my rocks as the waters fall from the edge of the cliff.

Today we are venturing to a place where there are a lot of cliffs, and so much texture.  I hope to find some inspiration at the Grand Canyon today!  I can't wait to see it in all of its majesty.
